Directly addressing the skilled trade shortage in Canada is a priority for the Canadian Steel Trade and Employment Congress.

This is why we are very proud to announce The Hamilton Skilled Trades and Apprenticeship Consortium [HSTAC] recently registered another 42 apprentices at Mohawk College in Hamilton. This brings the total number of registered apprentices for 2012 to 118.

The breakdown of trades is as follows:

44 – Industrial Electricians CODA program

33 – Industrial Mechanics CODA program

36 – Industrial Electricians Technician program (graduating April 2012)

5 – Industrial Mechanics Technician program (graduating April 2012)
