CSTEC Participating in Skills Canada - Ontario Competition
(Last Updated 4/1/2009 Skills Canada -- Ontario has been promoting careers in skilled trades and technologies for over 20 years. This year, the Ontario Competition will be held at RIM Park in Waterloo May 4th to 6th in conjunction with the Ontario Technological Skills Competition and will promote careers in skilled trades and technologies as viable, first-choice career options for young people.

This three-day event typically draws over 30,000 visitors, including Students in Grades 7 -- 12, Educators, Government Representatives, and Colleagues from Industry, Parents and the General Public. Students can speak to representatives from industry, government, associations, and labour forces and gather information about post-secondary training, including apprenticeships at many of the Ontario Colleges. Technological skills signify job opportunities and the future of Ontario. This showcase provides the link between the skills and a potential job, while allowing students to explore different career opportunities in a hands-on way. Come and see for yourself!

CSTEC will be partnering with Conestoga College and Mohawk College to present one of over 50 interactive displays, which will engage students during their visit by providing them with the opportunity to actively participate. Our goal is to have students learn more about career opportunities in the skilled trades and technologies in a fun and interactive way!
