(Last Updated 8/21/2009)

Industries across Canada are looking for effective ways to meet the challenge of an aging workforce. Nowhere is this challenge more important than in the area of skilled trades where close to half the tradespeople will need to be replaced over the next decade and beyond.

A growing number of industries and workplaces are finding that apprenticeships are the most productive and cost effective response to this critical skilled trades challenge. Over the last few years, CSTEC has worked with employers, unions, education and training institutions and governments to develop innovative partnership approaches to apprenticeships that maximize the benefits and minimize the costs and risks.

If you want to find out more  about apprenticeships as a cost effective solution to developing skilled trades  or about how CSTEC can help you, check out the  links on the right hand side of this page that answer some of the frequently asked  questions about apprenticeships.
